CAITLIN JACKSON
SCENES FROM NOWHERE
In this new body of work, “Scenes from Nowhere,” Caitlin presents a series of street vignettes that explore memory and nostalgia through the textures of a rapidly gentrifying neighbourhood.
Having spent her formative childhood years in this community, Caitlin formed connections with locals and explored the streets and neighbours’ backyards as her playground. She draws upon these memories to convey a sense of personal nostalgia for Sydney’s Inner West suburbia while examining the delicate balance between presence and absence, illuminating the stories embedded within the environment.
Through these images, Caitlin aims to foster a deeper connection to the scenes that shape our collective experience, revealing the beauty in the often-overlooked details that define a community.
