Her artworks are her unique response to the visual experience she has when immersed in a landscape. Colour, shape and line dominate her works, and are the ways in which she experiences and understands the world around her.
Leslie continues to evolve her practice by experimenting with new materials and expanding her visual language.
Responding to her studies of layers and forms found within the landscape, she introduces a three-dimensional approach through sculpture and wall reliefs.
Her appreciation for connection between the natural and human worlds deepens as she works through thoughtful repetition and emphasis on colour relationships, merging her established abstract paintings with geometric pattern making. A visual language that is her own.
Leslie earned a Bachelor of Visual Art Education at the School of Arts, University of Kansas. She is a resident artist at Onwards Studio and Gallery, and teaches visual art at Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
